    Nashville starts 2025 with a slew of new restaurants, some closures: What to try

    Nashville kicked off the new year with nine fresh restaurant and bar concepts opening their doors — ranging from a bright French cafe in Eastwood to a carnival-inspired spot off of Lower Broadway.

    Downtown Nashville won the most openings in January and East Nashville came in a not-so-close second place.

    Unfortunately, as the opening announcements arrived, so did closings.

    This month, three beloved local eateries revealed that they'll soon be shutting down, including one of The New York Times's best restaurants in Nashville.

    Here's the full list of what's new and what's on its way out:

    January openings

    Nacho Daddy

    The newest Mexican spot in Midtown made its debut at 800 19th Ave S.

    on Jan. 29 with "world-famous" Scorpion Shots, gourmet nachos and an expansive margarita menu. This is the Las Vegas-based restaurant's seventh location and the first in Tennessee.
