There’s never been a better time to be a Star Warsfan in terms of quantity. There’s more Star Wars on screen and on the page now than ever before in the franchise’s history.

From Disney+ series to video games to The High Republic books and Marvel comics, you can experience new adventures in the galaxy far, far away pretty much any way you want to right now. If Lucasfilm were able to get some movies off the ground, we’d be able to say that the franchise is firing on all cylinders.

Interestingly enough, Star Wars‘ hopes on the big screen now rest with The Mandalorian, the same franchise that launched the galaxy far, far away’s TV push.

Out in 2026, The Mandalorian and Grogu, a continuation of the stories told in the hit Disney+ series, will be the first new Star Wars movie since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. Lucasfilm then has plans to follow up Mando in theaters with at least two more films, which could include the new Rey Skywalker movie and Dave Filoni’s New Republic film.
